MOPS Survey

Thanks to all who came out for our Spring Tea and Open House. It was so great to give away so many door prizes to our faithful attenders, and of course the food was amazing as per usual. :)

Just a reminder to take the MOPS end of year survey. CLICK HERE to be redirected to the survey page. Takes just a few minutes! Please finish your responses by Monday, May 14. If you are planning to return or not return to MOPS, we need to hear what is working and what needs improving regarding the program. Your ideas keep us going!

And, if you haven’t already, please request to join our group on facebook. Search MOPS Niverville and you will find us. It is a protected group, so just submit a request and you will then be able to join. Keep in touch during the summer, ladies!

Re. September – - while we may post once in awhile during the summer, stay tuned for our registration date for September. We will be announcing it on this page first!

Spring Tea and Open House

Come one, come all! Come big, come small! Monday, May 7 is the MOPS Niverville annual Spring Tea and Open House, at 9:30 AM for regular attenders and 11 AM for any new moms. Infants and preschoolers are also invited for the 11 AM Open House; kids activities and refreshments provided. Tell your friends and come on down!

Amanda Kipe and Beth Friesen’s tables are on for providing food. You will receive an email reminder for this.

Remember, MOPS isn’t just about breakfast and chatting (really? I mean, hashbrown casseroles are pretty amazing) – it’s about making sure no mom feels alone. Take the time to email a few friends RIGHT NOW. :)

Regular attenders, this is also our year-end wind up. A few of our year-end house-keeping duties will include asking YOU if you would like to be part of our leadership team. We can use some fresh faces for next year and maybe YOU would like to be involved. Please talk to one of our leadership team members or email Sara Dacombe for more information.

Also, we will be conducting a year-end survey to hear what you thought the highlights of this year were, and what suggestions we could use in the future. Stay tuned for a link to the online survey coming soon and please take a minute to fill it out.

MOPS next week

Next week is our last MOPS meeting before our Spring Tea and Open House. Start watching for our posters to be up around town because the Spring Tea is open to new moms throughout our community! Start thinking of who you would like to invite because we’d like to see a whole new crop of moms there – remember, one of the reasons MOPS exists is to reach out to moms in the Niverville area. There is no reason for any mom to feel alone in her journey!

Also, would you like to know more about what it is like to be on the MOPS Steering Team? Well, it’s a *ton* of fun and only a *little* work. :) We can always use a bit of help to spread the work around, so if you are interested in hospitality, creative activities, communications, leadership, speaking, MOPPETS leadership, special services, or ANYTHING you feel you can bring to the table – - LET US KNOW! Send us an email or give us a phone call to let us know you’d be interested in helping run our little group.

See ya’ll next week!!

Giant Clothing Swap

I always look like THIS when I shop. ~~~~~~~~ More like this. ~~~~~~~ I don't even know what this one is about.

NO MOPS this Monday. The next meeting is Monday, April 9. It is the Giant Clothing Swap! If you need to do spring cleaning, now’s your chance to purge, Purge, PURGE! My new motto is, ‘When in doubt, throw it out!’ :D

But instead of throwing it out, bring it on down to the Giant Clothing Swap. Also consider cleaning out old mugs or serving trays, kids toys or home decor, and don’t forget purses, scarves, and jewellery. Bring it all down Monday on April 9, set it out on the designated tables, and prepare to ‘shop’ ’til you drop!

Teresa Banman’s table’s turn to bring breakfast.

Motivation Monday

If the springtime weather isn’t enough, let Monday’s MOPS presentation refresh and motivate you! We are having a fitness and nutrition morning led by Susan Watson, registered dietician and certified fitness instructor, and mommy to Sydney (9 months!). Susan will give us an encouraging message on eating well, and lead us through a few practice exercises that can easily be done at home and at any fitness level.

NOTE: The exercise portion of the morning will be OPTIONAL. But feel free to come dressed in your comfy clothes or workout clothes. :) The exercises will also be presented in such a way that you can just try a pose or one rep of the exercise; no one should feel they need to do every exercise or do multiple reps. This will not be a full intensity workout. Just an encouragement toward more fitness – - a good message especially as we head into spring and summer and can get out more.
Also, please begin to think about our MOPS event on April 9, our GIANT CLOTHING SWAP. Details coming soon!!

MOPS Niverville on Facebook

Hey all! MOPS Niverville has created a facebook group – ‘cuz, ya know, it’s the cool thing to do. :) Plus, we hope it will help us all keep better connected.

We have been using our organization’s website, mops.org, to facilitate some of our MOPS communication and group emails, and this year there have been many problems with the site. Some of you may not be getting the emails we are sending. Our facebook page will hopefully provide another way of making sure we are all in touch. Teresa Banman and Sara Dacombe are facebook administrators of this page for now. The page has been created as a ‘closed’ group  - that means everyone can see that the group exists, but only members can see the content and posts.

We are trying to reach all our members to join this facebook page, but if you haven’t joined already, please look up the group *MOPS Niverville* and request to be added.

Thanks! And here is a reminder of MOPS on Monday – and it is Jenna Kimbo’s table’s turn to bring breakfast. See you!!

New MOPS Baby!

Congrats to Beth Friesen and husband, Arlin, on the arrival of baby Zade, a precious little boy delivered on the side of the road on Hwy 59 yesterday morning. How exciting! Mom and baby are doing well, still in hospital today. Here’s the Winnipeg Free Press story if you are interested (posted with Beth’s permission):
